Methodist Healthcare won an award for Outstanding Business Purchasing at the recent Black Enterprising Networking Needs You (BENNY) Awards presented by The Black Business Association of Memphis.

This award recognizes governmental or non-governmental purchasing department that demonstrates outstanding commitment to promote, encourage and assist in the growth and development of minority and women owned businesses.

“As an organization, we have made a conscious decision to increase purchasing from minority and women owned businesses knowing that growth in these areas is vital to the growth and health of the Memphis economy,” said Larry Fogarty, vice president, supply chain management, Methodist Healthcare. “Receiving the Outstanding Business Purchasing award shows that we are achieving the diversity we believe in.”

The Black Business Association of Memphis promotes the creation, expansion and development of businesses that employ African-Americans and other minorities.
