Employees from Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare recently spent a morning speaking to approximately 100 Central High School students who are interested in pursuing a career in a technical field. Representatives from Methodist Le Bonheur’s Radiology department, Information Systems, and Hematology and Chemistry labs were on hand to educate students about careers in the medical field that are available with a two-year degree.
“It was a great opportunity to introduce an exciting field that is not well known by the general public,” reports medical technologist Regina Sanders. “It provided me time to reflect on why I decided to go into the medical field...to serve.”
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is committed to the youth of our community and partners with area schools to help guide, direct and inspire students. Whether by reading to a classroom, speaking at an event, or tutoring a student struggling to read, Methodist Le Bonheur associates consistently step up to the challenge.
“Speaking with students that morning, I was able to peek into our younger generations mind, and realized that they can become great, with guidance and direction. We should always jump at an opportunity to reach out to our children and help them on their way,” said Sanders.
