Methodist Fayette Hospital received the Leapfrog Leadership in Pneumonia Care Quality and Cost Award from the Memphis Business Group on Health (MBGH). 

“It is an honor to be recognized by both MBGH and the Leapfrog Group,” said David Crislip, administrator, Methodist Fayette Hospital. “It’s an incredible achievement and demonstrates our Associates’ dedication to providing high-quality care to the patients and families of our community.” 

Fayette met the combined quality and cost leaps as determined by the high ratings it received on the 2008 Leapfrog Hospital survey for the treatment of pneumonia. It is the only national survey to report a hospital-efficiency score, which is a combination of a hospital’s quality of care and resource use. 

The Leapfrog Group is a voluntary program aimed at mobilizing employer purchasing power to alert America’s health industry that big leaps in health care safety, quality and customer value will be recognized and rewarded. 

Among other initiatives, Leapfrog works with its employer members to encourage transparency and easy access to health care information and the organization rewards hospitals that have a proven record of high quality care.
