Memphis, Tenn. – Sandra Hugueley has been named chief nursing officer for Methodist Extended Care Hospital (MECH). As chief nursing officer, Hugueley is responsible for leading the operations of clinical departments within MECH, as well as for results and outcomes of care throughout those clinical departments. The chief nursing officer is accountable for patient care and nursing practices and the oversight of nursing roles and practices. “Sandra will be an excellent addition to our MECH team,” said Sandra Bailey, administrator and CEO of Methodist Extended Care Hospital. “Her background and experience make her the ideal nursing leader for MECH and under her leadership I’m sure we’ll continue our positive momentum.” Hugueley joined Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in 1986 as an RN, becoming nurse manager of Medical-Surgical ICU at Methodist North Hospital in 1997. She has served in a variety of nurse leadership positions, most recently as corporate director of Interim Administrative Services. About Methodist Extended Care Hospital Methodist Extended Care Hospital is a 36-bed acute care hospital that focuses on the treatment of long-term patients that are medically stable but require intense, regular medical attention. Often referred to as a “hospital within a hospital,” Methodist Extended Care Hospital operates as a separate facility located within Methodist University Hospital.
