Methodist University Hospital (MUH) was honored at a recent luncheon sponsored by Memphis City Schools for its many years of involvement with the city’s Adopt-a-School program. MUH has partnered with Central High School for 20 years and with Norris Elementary for a quarter of a century.
Through the Adopt-a-School program, MUH employees are given the opportunity to support Norris Elementary and Central High in a variety of ways. Many MUH employees have chosen to volunteer their time tutoring struggling students, reading weekly to classrooms and speaking to different groups or clubs at the schools. Others have volunteered to be test proctors and classroom monitors, while others sought to help out at special events or programs. The opportunities to support these school and the students attending them are endless.
“We are so thrilled to have such longstanding relationships with such outstanding schools,” said Ruth Ann Hale, community relations and media director for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. “The Adopt-A-School program is such a rewarding one for both the schools and the companies. We are rewarded every time we are able to help a student or teacher.”
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is committed to serving the communities in which we live and work and is proud to be a long-term supporter of the Memphis City School Adopt-a-School program.
