2008 Cancer Center Luncheon

CANCER CENTER LUNCHEON

America's best-known political commentator couple, James Carville and Mary Matalin, will share their razor-sharp perceptions about today's political climate at the 7th Annual Methodist Cancer Center Luncheon on November 14, 2008.  Each is a champion of their own party's convictions, making this an opportunity for Mid-Southerners to observe the fireworks as they deliver incisive and entertaining comments on the political world.

James Carville and Mary Matalin are each leading voices in creating and advocating political strategies and tactics, and each has become renowned for extraordinary intelligence and uncanny political perceptions.  James, who was the Chief Strategist for the 1992 Clinton Presidential campaign, and Mary, who was at the same time, the Director of President George Bush's 1992 Re-Election campaign, were married in 1993.  Since then, both have had distinguished careers in the political realm.  In addition to serving as an assistant to President George W. Bush, Mary has been a host of CNN's critically acclaimed TV debate show, "Crossfire".  James has gone on to manage more political campaigns worldwide than anyone else in U.S. history and has also served as a host of CNN's "Crossfire".  As accomplished authors, both have made the New York Times Best Seller list with their individual works such as Mary's Letters To My Daughters and James' Take It Back:  Our Party, Our Country, Our Future.  Together they wrote one of the nation's best-selling political memoirs, All's Fair:  Love, War and Running For President.

The Methodist Healthcare Foundation presents the Cancer Center Luncheon each year to benefit the education and research initiatives of the Methodist Healthcare Cancer Center in the treatment of all forms of cancer.
