Robin J. Womeodu, M.D., F.A.C.P., is the chief medical officer at Methodist University Hospital. A graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey and Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Womeodu joined the University of Tennessee Medical School faculty in 1988, after completing a National Health Service commitment.
Her career has focused on addressing health disparities, improving care for medically undeserved populations and building community-based participatory partnerships to address the myriad of psychosocial and socioeconomic barriers to achieving optimal health outcomes.
Dr. Womeodu is past Chair of the Memphis and Shelby County Regional Health Council, a collaborative group of public-private partnerships focused on prioritizing local health concerns and developing and supporting strategically focused solutions. She is a board-certified Internist and fellow in the American College of Physicians - American Society of Internal Medicine.
