Sandra Bailey is the administrator of Methodist Extended Care Hospital, the long-term acute care hospital within Methodist University Hospital. In addition, she is vice president of Senior Care with responsibility for the development and implementation of a system-wide strategy for senior patient and family care. Bailey initially joined the organization as the administrator of Methodist's Brownsville, Tenn. hospital where she served from 1996-2002.
She rejoined Methodist in 2002 as the administrator of the Methodist Healthcare managed UT Bowld Hospital after a one-year tenure as chief operating officer at Emergency Coverage Corporation, headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn. Previously, she served in various health care leadership roles in both east and west Tennessee hospital systems.
Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audiology from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Science Degree in health systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Bailey is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former national board member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. She is also active in the mentor program for young women in the Shelby County School System.
