Transitional Application

University Hospital (NRMP #1696999PO) residency program must be submitted through ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application System.

Requirements for consideration:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or equivalent
  • Dean's letter
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • At least one year of clinical training in a U.S. hospital

Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to have at least one year of clinical training in a United States hospital and a minimum combined 2-digit score of 164 on USMLE/ECFMG Steps 1 and 2. Only foreign applicants with J-1 visas or higher may be considered.

All interested applicants are encouraged to apply. Selection criteria include previous accomplishments and special circumstances in addition to academic performance. All applications are reviewed by the resident selection committee, after which you will be contacted by e-mail regarding selection status.

Selected applicants will be scheduled for interviews on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Exceptions can be made only for extraordinary circumstances or to accommodate a specialty interview at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. We very rarely conduct telephone interviews.

Parking
Visitor parking at Methodist University Hospital is directly across from the main entrance on Eastmoreland Street. Eastmoreland runs parallel to and one block south of Union Avenue. Through the main entrance, you will pass through lobby, go left past information desk and take first right. Go past the Tower elevators, and you will be facing Medical Education/Medical Library. You may bring your parking ticket to Medical Education for validation.
