Resident Life

Methodist University Hospital first year residents average overnight call duty five to six times each month. No call is scheduled during Emergency Medicine months. Call quarters are clean, comfortable and plentiful. A large resident lounge features a big-screen television with VCR, computer with Internet access, kitchenette, pool table, Ping-Pong table and a well-equipped exercise facility.

Most days begin with Morning Report at 8 a.m., which features case presentations and discussions meant to supplement resident learning. Lunch is served at Noon Conferences. Residents often plan group activities, such as intramural sports, golf outings or trips to sporting events. Our popular canoe trips are scheduled twice a year and are open to residents, families and friends.
