Commitment to Diversity

The commitment to diversity begins at the top. The board of directors of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare reflects the community we serve. The board’s leadership sets an example for the entire system. Within the walls of every facility, you will see diversity in action. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has been recognized for offering opportunities to grow and contribute to staff members of every background. To acknowledge this, the Memphis Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recently presented Methodist Le Bonheur with its Diversity Leadership Award.

Supplier Diversity

This award also took into account supplier diversity, which has been identified as a key priority for Methodist Le Bonheur by the board and senior management. Over the last five years, the entire system has increased spending with minority- and women-owned businesses by more than 300 percent. Methodist Le Bonheur is a strong supporter of supplier diversity and has been honored by the Mid-South Minority Business Council, the Black Business Association, Premier and others for its creative work to develop diverse vendor relationships. As Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare moves forward, it looks to continuously raise the bar and set new standards for diverse leadership in this community.
