Critical Care Unit

Methodist South's newly renovated Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week treating emergencies, and is designated as a Basic Pediatric Emergency Facility participating in the Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center Network of Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center to treat children's emergencies. We know than an emergency room visit is not something you look forward to, and, because of this, Methodist South is committed to reducing your wait time while you are here. We guarantee that you will be seen by a Physician, a Physician's Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner within 30 minutes of arrival.
Maternity Center
Our Maternity Center was designed with the entire family in mind. The labor, delivery and recovery suites combine the comfort of home-like amenities with the sophistication and safety of the hospital. From the very beginning of your pregnancy, you can relax knowing that you and your baby will receive quality care in a comfortable environment.
Methodist South was one of a very select group of hospitals in the nation awarded with the distinguished Premier Award for Quality for Excellence in Obstetrics. The latest technology and highly trained staff are on hand during your delivery, and a fully equipped Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides care for premature or sick infants.

Methodist Diagnostic Center - South
Methodist South's expanded Diagnostic Center contains the latest diagnostic technology equipment and shows our commitment to quality diagnostic imaging. Our services include:

- Angiography, an X-ray of the arteries that can detect problems in the blood vessels
- Nuclear medicine

- 3D/4D capable Ultrasound
Cardiac Services and Acute Inpatient Care
Methodist South has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission for Stroke and AMI and thereby achieved the designations of Primary Stroke Center and Certified AMI Program. Through all of these certifications, we have improved processes which allow us to:
- Integrate the emergency department with the local emergency medical system
- Access, diagnose and treat patients quickly
- Effectively treat patients with low risk for acute coronary syndrome
- Ensure personnel competency and training
- Continually improve processes and procedures
- Demonstrate compliance to the most stringent standards of performance
In addition to these certifications, cardiac services at Methodist South also includes the most advanced heart diagnostic technology in the world: GE LightSpeed VCT 64-Slice Scanner. This state-of-the-art imaging tool can scan the entire body in ten seconds and produce images of the heart and coronary arteries in less than five heartbeats. It offers a multitude of other uses and is also important in diagnosing and pinpointing stroke and other neurological problems.
