Do you have questions about being an advocate for Le Bonheur? We've put together a list of answers to questions that we receive frequently.
Who can be an advocate?
Anyone who shares a common interest in children's health and well-being is welcome as an advocate. Voices are needed from every arena. Examples of people who have become grassroots advocates for children's hospitals are administrators, doctors and nurses and other health care professionals; trustees; volunteers; parents; grandparents; and donors.
Why should I join?
Children need you. They can't always speak for themselves. You can help improve children's lives by ensuring that our elected officials hear regularly about what's important for children.
How do I join?
Joining is easy. Complete our on-line membership form to enroll.
What's expected of members?
There is no membership fee or required time of commitment. Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center wants you to be aware of legislative issues affecting your child's well-being and be willing to provide support for those issues you believe in. When a law or policy needs our advocates' support, we'll contact you and ask that you reach our to your elected officials. We'll provide a simple and easy way to act.
What are the benefits of joining?
We'll send you our e-newsletter and action alerts, along with information about advocacy events.
Who can I contact for more information?
Contact Kristen Bland, Manager of Public Policy and Advocacy, blandk@methodisthealth.org for more information.
