We offer comprehensive therapy services in schools throughout West Tennessee through Therapy Outreach. Our staff includes physical, occupational and speech therapists who are specifically trained to treat your child. Therapists develop a customized plan based on the individual needs of each child. Staff members are certified in neurodevelopmental treatment and therapeutic listening. Services can be provided in the home or in an outpatient setting at the Le Bonheur Community Outreach building in Jackson, Tenn.

The need for therapy in the school system becomes apparent when a student demonstrates decreased performance or participation in the school setting. This decreased performance may or may not be secondary to a diagnosis. The goal of therapy is to increase performance or participation in the school setting.

The function of therapy services in the school setting is to plan and implement activities that will support goals and objectives identified on the Individualized Education Plan (IEP.) The therapist also takes on the role of teacher to instruct other team members, including parents, how to integrate recommendations into the classroom and at home.

Since 2004, Therapy Outreach treated 707 patients with the following disabilities:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Developmental Delay
  • Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
  • Failure to Thrive
  • Macrocephaly
  • Moderate to Severe Mental Retardation
  • Myotonic Dystrophy
  • Spastic Cerebral Palsy
  • Spina Bifida
  • Smith-Magenis Syndrome
