Family and Friends at the Hospital - Visiting Hours

As an essential part of the care team, parents are  encouraged to be with their child 24-hours a day. When your child is admitted, you'll receive two parent ID wristbands. Please wear these throughout your child's stay.
Other family and friends are welcome in your child's room between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.

After 10 p.m., guests should get permission from a security offcer before they visit. Children under 12 should check in at the nurse's station for a health screening before entering the room.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Visiting Hours
For PICU and CVICU patients, parents are encouraged to stay with their child at all times. Other family and friends, with parent permission, may visit at any time except during shift changes.

  • Daytime shift changes are from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Evening shift changes are from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • After 10 p.m., we request that only parents be with their child.

For sibling visitation, please talk with a Child Life Specialist.

Neonatal Intensive Care and Stepdown Units (NICU) and Infant Care Unit Visiting Hours
Parents are encouraged to remain with NICU and Infant Care Unit patients whenever possible. With the approval of parents, other family and friends are welcome at the bedside as well, and will receive a special identifying wristband.

Transitional Care Unit (TCU) Visiting Hours
Parents, grandparents and other immediate family members are welcome at the bedside at all times, with the exception of shift changes.

  • Daytime shift changes are from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Evening shift changes are from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

We ask that children under three not visit the Transitional Care Unit. Sibling visits should be coordinated through a Child Life Specialist.
