Working with children in healthcare is a rewarding but challenging experience. At Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center, we want to make the transition from adult to pediatric care as smooth as possible.
Our Pediatric Critical Care Internship for Respiratory Therapists program provides us with the opportunity to help respiratory therapists feel more comfortable shifting to a new area. During the four-month program, experienced RRTs receive expanded pediatric training to help them apply theory, further develop skills and perform competently in a pediatric care setting.
The program supports the transition into pediatrics through formal education opportunities, peer support and clinical experiences with various types of pediatric patients in the critical care units. Career guidance and counseling also are available.
