Thanks to the generosity of FedEx Corporation; Frederick W. and Diane Smith; and Susan and Alan Graf, a place is being built for Le Bonheur families to stay while their child is in the hospital. The FedExFamilyHouse will be the first facility to provide housing for families of patients receiving extended care at Le Bonheur. The FedExFamilyHouse is a private facility exclusively for Le Bonheur patients and their families.
Financial support for the FedExFamilyHouse will come from a $2.3 million donation from FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and personal donations from Frederick W. Smith, chairman, president and CEO, and his wife Diane, and Alan B. Graf, Jr., executive vice president and CFO, and his wife Susan.
Expected to open in 2010, The FedExFamilyHouse will provide 25,000 square feet with 24 suites, four kitchens, dining facilities, indoor and outdoor recreational space, an office for families, and other comforting amenities including:
- Safe and relaxing outdoor spaces with a courtyard, dining terrace, children’s play area and screened porches
