Le Bonheur Early Intervention & Development (LEAD) recently was accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. LEAD, a licensed three-star childcare center at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, works with children from birth to age 3 who are developmentally delayed or have a condition that directly affects their health or development. LEAD also offers stimulating developmental classroom settings for children age 6 weeks to 5 years.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age 8.
Representatives from the NAEYC visited LEAD in March. LEAD was required to meet 400 standards in order to receive accreditation. As an NAEYC accredited program, LEAD must maintain these standards and continue to support the efforts of the NAEYC to improve early childhood education.
