CoverKids Came to Memphis For Enrollment Event

CoverKids representatives enrolled families in the comprehensive health insurance program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 in the lower lobby of Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, 50 N. Dunlap St., in Memphis.

Additionally, CoverKids representatives announced a number of program enhancements to kick-off the enrollment event and the Department of Health’s mobile dental unit will be at the event to host tours.

CoverKids, a Cover Tennessee program, allows qualifying children 18 and under to get free, comprehensive health insurance for health care services such as doctor visits, vision care, immunizations, prescriptions and hospital visits.

A family of four with an annual household income of $53,000 a year or less will qualify for CoverKids. They will have no monthly premiums for coverage and will pay $5 to $15 for doctor visits and $5 for generic medications. They will not have any co-pays for routine exams, labs or x-rays.

Families attending the event should bring Social Security numbers for each child they want to enroll in CoverKids and the family’s annual income information.
