College student gets a new lease on life

University of Memphis student Stephen Rogers started having seizures last year. Doctors tried several of medicines to control the epilepsy but nothing worked. The medicines made him foggy – he had to cut back his classes. The last option and best hope was to implant a VNS (vagus nerve stimulation) device - a sort of pacemaker for the brain.
