Carol Ross-Spang is senior vice president of Human Resources. She joined Methodist in 2000 as vice president of Human Resources and was promoted to her current role in 2001. In 2003, she was awarded the Methodist Healthcare Sherard Award as Executive of the Year for her work in leading the organization's human capital strategies.
Prior to joining Methodist, Ross-Spang held a variety of human resources positions at Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., The Promus Companies and Holiday Corporation. She received both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Ross-Spang is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the American Society of Healthcare Human Resource Administration (ASHHRA) and The Leader's Board, a national group of not-for-profit Human Resource executives.
Ross-Spang serves on the board and executive committee for the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, and as Vice President of the Poplar Pike Arts Guild and remains active as a graduate of Leadership Memphis (Class of 1999). She served on the advisory board for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is a past board member of the YWCA.
