Lymphedema is a common and serious condition that causes abnormal swelling in the arms and legs. Treatment consists of manual lymph drainage, skin care, compression and exercises. 

Treatment duration can be three weeks to three months, depending on the severity of the swelling and patient compliance. Treatment typically lasts about one hour and is performed by a certified lymphedema therapist or a licensed person trained by a specialist.
