Chest Pain Centers
Methodist hospitals have Disease Specific Certification from The Joint Commission for AMI (heart attack).
Our cardiac services include a wide variety of treatment options. We provide the latest in heart care technologies with knowledgeable experts and a network of service locations to provide optimal cardiac services for you and your family.
Our patients benefit from a full-range of services, including both in and outpatient cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, minimally invasive heart surgery and open heart-surgery.
In addition, Methodist North Hospital has achieved the designation of Accredited Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Intervention (PCI). The accreditation, awarded by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, brings high-level cardiac care to our patients, which is vitally important when treating heart attacks.
To receive this accreditation, Chest Pain Centers must demonstrate expertise in several key areas including:
- Integrating the emergency department with the local emergency medical system
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients quickly
- Effectively treating patients with low risk for acute coronary syndrome and no assignable cause for their symptoms
- Continually seeking to improve processes and ensuring staff competencies
