Salary and Benefits
During the interview process, applicants are encouraged to ask questions about the available benefits. At the beginning of each residency year, an orientation session is conducted during which a detailed explanation of all benefits is provided.
Salary
Please refer to the Residency Booklet concerning current salaries for PGY1 and PGY2 residencies.
Medical Insurance
Single or family coverage for medical care of residents and their families is provided for a monthly fee.
Life and Disability Insurance
Basic life insurance coverage is provided for all Methodist Healthcare residents. Additional life and disability insurance can be purchased by the resident at the beginning of the program.
Holidays, Vacation days, and Sick Leave
The resident may use up to 23 days off yearly (10 vacation, 4 sick, and 9 holidays). Unused days will be compensated at the end of the year. Additional paid leave is provided for all pharmacy-related travel and interviews.
Support to attend professional meetings
Residents will receive limited travel support to attend the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in December and to a regional residency conference in the Spring. Other support may be available upon request or need.
Professional Liability Insurance
Methodist provides professional insurance to residents while they are acting within the scope of their professional duties in the residency program.
