Minimally invasive surgery is any technique that limits or reduces the incision size needed to perform surgery. The benefits of limiting the size of an open incision often include less blood loss, reduced hospital stay and less pain and scarring. Because trauma to the body is reduced, patients are often able to return to their day to day life activities quicker.
