Rev. Harry D. Durbin has been named senior vice president of Faith & Health for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.
“Harry has served in this role in an interim capacity since May 2012, and has done an incredible job of leading the great work of that division in building and strengthening the role of the faith community across our system,” said Gary Shorb, president and CEO, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.
Rev. Durbin has been a part of the Faith & Health Division since June 2011, where his primary areas of focus were in clergy coaching, denominational relationships and missions. Prior to joining MLH, he was senior pastor of Collierville UMC for 13 years. As an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, he has led five churches, four in Shelby County, and from 2006-2011 was on the Board of Directors of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, chairing the Faith & Health Committee for five of those years. Twice he was nominated for the office of Bishop by the Memphis Conference.
Rev. Durbin has many passions for ministry, including missions, church growth, development of new facilities and connecting faith and health. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Union University, a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary, a Master of Education from the University of Memphis, and a Doctor of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary.
