At Central, Makaila maintained a 4.3 grade point average and accumulated over 75 hours of community service hours while serving as the yearbook editor, cheer team member and student council representative. She was also a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club and the National Honor Society. This fall, she will pursue a degree in biology at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville to fulfill her ultimate goal of becoming a medical doctor.
