Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital and Methodist University Hospital were recognized during the Memphis Business Group on Health’s Annual Awards Luncheon.
Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital was recognized for achieving the “best odds of survival” for high-risk surgical procedures for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and for fully meeting the heart angioplasty Leap which scored quality and cost. Methodist University Hospital was recognized for “best odds of survival” for pancreatic resection and esophageal resection. The results are from the 2009 Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
“It is exciting to see local hospitals voluntarily participate in the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and recognize them for their efforts to improve healthcare,” said Cristie Upshaw Travis, CEO of the Memphis Business Group on Health.
The Leapfrog Survey advocates transparency in healthcare and is the gold standard for comparing hospitals’ performances on the national standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
