An article in the August 2013 issue of Sojourners profiles the Congregational Health Network, initiated ten years ago by Methodist Healthcare. The article traces its growth from a pilot with about a dozen pastors to a system-wide project including more than 500 congregations supported by 11 health navigators employed by the hospital. Data shows that participants have lower mortality rates than non-participants, as well as lower hospital costs.
