Robin J. Womeodu, MD, FACP, is Chief Medical Officer at Methodist University Hospital. A graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey and Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Womeodu joined the University of Tennessee Medical School faculty in 1988, after completing a National Health Service commitment.
Her career has focused on addressing health disparities, improving care for medically undeserved populations, and building community-based participatory partnerships to address the many psychosocial and socioeconomic barriers to achieving optimal health outcomes.
Dr. Womeodu is past Chair of the Memphis and Shelby County Regional Health Council, a collaborative group of public-private partnerships focused on prioritizing local health concerns and developing and supporting strategically focused solutions. She is a board certified Internist and fellow in the American College of Physicians - American Society of Internal Medicine.
