Volunteers

MLH has some of the most talented Clinical staff that can be found anywhere in the country. But we could not do all we do without the invaluable support of our dedicated volunteers. Whether you are a retiree wanting to give back to the community, a college student hoping to learn more about the hospital environment,or you just have a desire to help others during your free time, you will find a variety of opportunities available.

The Volunteer Services department coordinates and screens Volunteers for all of the adult hospitals in our system including University, South, North, Germantown and Olive Branch. We actively recruit Volunteers to support the staff in many areas of the hospital aimed at impacting patient and family centered care.

How to Get Started:

Initial Interest: Receive information packet containing application and reference forms.
The Interview: The interview is simply a two-way discussion concerning your position interest, the position duties, model expectations and any questions you may have. You will be given the date of your orientation at this time.
Volunteer Orientation: You should arrive at least 15 minutes early so that we can make your volunteer badge prior to the start of class. Orientation lasts approximately an hour and a half.

Congratulations Welcome aboard! You are now a part of the healing team at Methodist Healthcare. Upon arrival at your first day of work, one of our Associates will meet you. We will introduce you to staff and fellow volunteers, while showing you around the hospital where you will be serving. We will make sure you are comfortable with your surroundings so you have the best possible volunteer experience.
